Tucson Native Opens First Southern Arizona Location For National Fitness Brand

Healthcare Veteran Ruffell Brings Dual MBA And 17 Years Of Experience To 1-2-3 Fit

ORO VALLEY, AZ – 1-2-3 Fit, a national fitness chain, announced today the grand opening of its first Southern Arizona franchise under the ownership and direction of Tucson native and healthcare industry veteran Keri Ruffell, MBA, ACE. The new location, situated at the southeast corner of Lambert Lane and La Canada Drive in Oro Valley, will provide locals with a simple, efficient fitness regimen that fits busy schedules. The benefits extend beyond the gym walls and can be applied seamlessly into members’ daily lives.

Prior to opening 1-2-3 Fit, Ruffell, who holds a dual Master’s Degree in Business Administration, worked in healthcare technology at Strategic Healthcare Programs. She has also held top-level management posts at Misys Healthcare Systems (formerly Sunquest Information Systems), including roles in sales and marketing, corporate education, and client services.  She served two terms on the Board of Directors for the Arizona Association for Homecare. In 1999, Ruffell’s achievements were recognized with the Measure of Excellence Top 1% Award at Sunquest Information Systems.  Ruffell is a seasoned public speaker at national and local conferences and events. She is also a wife and a mother of a nine year-old son and seven year-old daughter.

Ruffell states,”After years working in healthcare, whether it be in patient care or with technology, I’ve learned that nothing can replace the relationships you build when helping people. It is a fulfilling thing to know you have enriched someone’s life – whether it be professionally or personally. It’s time to bring those experiences home to benefit the city that made me who I am and 1-2-3 Fit is the ideal partner to spread the gospel of healthy living in Southern Arizona.”

1-2-3 Fit employs proprietary Simbio System™ equipment as well as the 30/30 Circuit™ training program, which was developed exclusively for 1-2-3 Fit. A six-month study conducted in 2007 by The American Council on Exercise (ACE) and facilitated at Seattle’s Swedish Medical Center in conjunction with the Seattle University Human Performance Lab, found that the 30-minute, high-intensity, 1-2-3 Fit circuit training workout proves to be more effective than other methods of exercise such as elliptical machines, aerobics, jogging, or other circuit workouts.   Since the 1-2-3 Fit workout combines cardiovascular, strength, and resistance training, it allows for higher energy expenditure thus burning as many as 450 calories in just a half hour. This can help lower body weight, decrease risk of diseases, increase energy and overall fitness levels in an extremely efficient manner.

The Oro Valley 1-2-3 Fit location is accepting membership applications now. A grand opening gala, featuring refreshments, a ribbon-cutting ceremony, and live music from blues and jazz musician, Joe Bourne, is scheduled for Friday, July 25 from 5:00PM-7:30PM.
Hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 5:00AM-8:30PM, and Saturdays from 8:00AM-3:00PM.
